Wiola Trailers – technical information
Innovative frame design
All the frames of our trailers are manufactured from high-grade, high-strength steel, which is characterised by very high ductility. In practice, this makes it less prone to cracking and better suited to further processing. This has enabled us to use a unique frame design featuring additional holes and embossed sections, whilst simultaneously increasing the strength of the entire structure. The joints between the individual frame components are welded – not bolted.
Welded structure
Unlike the cheap trailers found in popular DIY stores, the frames of our trailers are fully welded. Welding ensures a low concentration of stress in the area where the steel joints are made, in contrast to bolted joints, where the stress is concentrated at a single point. It is also important to bear in mind that the trailer frame is under constant stress, and welded joints are much more resistant to fatigue loads and vibrations.
Precision of workmanship
Thanks to our state-of-the-art machinery, every component of the trailer is manufactured with precision and care. This process ranges from cutting components using a fibre-optic laser, through bending and forming on CNC machines, to welding carried out by Kawasaki welding robots.
Corrosion protection – hot-dip galvanising
We use hot-dip galvanising as a corrosion protection for steel components. It is the best anti-corrosion coating available on the market, with a service life of up to 50 years.
This type of coating is also resistant to mechanical damage, as the galvanising is applied in layers. All the layers are exceptionally strong and together form a robust protective barrier, retaining their properties even in the event of localised damage.
Passivation – Cync-Clar coating
An additional coat of colourless, water-based acrylic varnish, which prevents the zinc from oxidising. Following the passivation process, the frame retains its grey, glossy colour for a long time and does not darken over time. This layer also protects the galvanised steel from harmful road conditions, such as road salt used in winter.
Suspension – steering axles
All our caravans are fitted with suspension systems from the renowned German manufacturers KNOTT or AL-KO. The axles feature rubber bushings within their housings, which effectively dampen the movement of the control arms over uneven surfaces. This is a suspension system in which the left and right control arms operate independently. This prevents the trailer from bouncing when unladen and improves the wheels’ grip on the road surface.
Double-row compact bearings
As early as 2001, we were the first in Poland to start using axles with compact bearings in our trailers. The bearings have two rows of balls, are sealed and require no additional lubrication. Unlike standard tapered roller bearings, the compact versions are completely maintenance-free, and their service life is approximately 50,000 km. They also have a low coefficient of friction and can withstand high rotational speeds.
Extensive standard equipment
Our trailers come as standard with all the necessary accessories, such as:
- Support wheel,
- Load-securing straps,
- Anti-theft device*,
- Spare wheel holder,
- Front and rear side panels that open,
- Plug holder,
- LED marker lights.
